Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information
Last Updated: August 21, 2026
BLD SF Bay Area ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website, use the BLD SF Community mobile app, or otherwise interact with our community.
Information We Collect
Personal Information You Provide
We may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you:
- Contact Us: Name, email address, phone number (optional), and message content when you submit our contact form.
- Subscribe to Our Newsletter: Email address when you sign up for our newsletter.
- Make a Donation: When you make a donation through our website, payment information is collected and processed by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. We receive confirmation of your donation but do not store your full credit card details.
- Register for Events or Retreats: Name, contact information, and other details necessary for event registration.
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit our website, certain information may be collected automatically, including:
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Pages visited and time spent on pages
- Referring website addresses
- IP address (which may indicate general geographic location)
BLD SF Community Mobile App
The BLD SF Community app is a members' app for our district: it carries the community calendar, the Teaching Prayer of the Day, song and chord resources, service setlists, prayer intentions, and announcements. Everything in the app sits behind a sign-in, and joining as a member also requires a passcode shared by our ministry leaders.
Account Information
You can sign in three ways, and what we receive depends on which you choose:
- Google: we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. We never see your Google password.
- Sign in with Apple: we receive an identifier Apple assigns for this app, and the name and email address you choose to share. Apple lets you hide your real address, in which case we only ever see the forwarding address Apple provides. We never see your Apple password.
- Guest sign-in: a shared username and password issued by our leaders, which is not tied to any individual.
We store your display name, your email address, your role in the community, and the sign-in identifier used to recognize you on your next visit. You can change your display name in the app at any time.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, we store the push token your device provides, which platform it is on, and which topics you have chosen to receive. This is what lets us deliver announcements to your device; it cannot be used to read anything else on your phone. You can turn individual topics off in the app, or turn notifications off entirely in your device settings. Notification content is delivered through Apple's and Google's push services and the Expo push service.
What You Create in the App
When you RSVP to an event, your name appears on that event's attendee list to other signed-in members. Setlists you build are saved to your account or to your device, depending on where you save them. Prayer intentions and community resources are shared with the community by design.
What the App Does Not Do
We want to be specific about this, because it is unusual:
- The app contains no advertising and no advertising identifiers.
- The app contains no analytics or tracking software. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not build profiles for marketing.
- The app does not request access to your location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your information for advertising purposes — ever.
Service Providers Used by the App
- Google — sign-in, if you choose it.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, if you choose it, and the Apple Push Notification service for delivering notifications to iPhones and iPads.
- Expo — the service that relays notifications to Apple and Google on our behalf.
Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account from inside the app at any time: open Account and choose Delete account. This permanently removes your account record, your RSVPs, and your saved settings, and stops any further notifications to your devices. It cannot be undone. Prayer intentions and setlists you contributed for the whole community's use may remain with the community. If you would rather we do it for you, or you no longer have the app installed, email us at [email protected].
How Long We Keep App Data
We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. Push tokens are removed when you sign out, delete your account, or uninstall the app. Deleted accounts are not retained in our active systems, though a copy may persist in routine encrypted backups for a limited period before those backups age out.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and prayer requests
- Send you newsletters and community updates (if you've subscribed)
- Process your donations and provide tax receipts
- Register you for events, retreats, and encounters
- Improve our website and services
- Communicate important information about our community

Information Sharing and Disclosure

- Service Providers: We use Stripe to process donations. Stripe's use of your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal processes.
- BLD Community: As part of the broader BLD (Bukas Loob sa Diyos) Covenant Community, we may share information with other BLD districts for community purposes, always in accordance with this policy.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our website uses minimal cookies and tracking technologies. We embed Google Maps on our contact page to help you find our meeting location, which may set cookies according to Google's privacy practices. We do not use advertising cookies or extensive tracking.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
